MEDIA of
SOCIETY
Using media to bring out the best in society.
A nonprofit empowering women and girls through media, music, film, education and technology.
About · Mission
Media is a mirror.
Let's make it a window.
Media of Society is a nonprofit organization founded by Alizah Whitney Johnson, dedicated to empowering individuals and communities, particularly women and girls, through media, music, film, education, technology, and social impact initiatives.
We believe media is one of the most powerful influences shaping how people think, what they believe is possible, and how they participate in society. Our mission is to use that influence for good by amplifying voices, challenging limiting beliefs, encouraging creativity, and empowering people to become active contributors to positive change.
Through educational programs, creative productions, live experiences, and strategic partnerships, Media of Society connects personal empowerment with collective progress.

Our Initiatives
Four stages. One mission.

Our first film
American Masala
A Media of Society film about intercultural connection.
Our first film: a story about intercultural relationships, with an original soundtrack already written. The script is complete; we plan to shoot in India and Austin.
We're raising $25,000 to bring it to the screen, and we're looking for Film3 partners in Austin and around the world.
Our Vision
“Our vision is a society in which more people recognize their value, develop their potential, and use their talents, resources, and voices to improve the world.”
